TRANSCURVE is I.T. Equipment's new, side-flexing transporter series.
This unique transporter was designed to provide all the features of non synchronous transporter systems while reducing the number of drives and the amount of panel I/O needed to support them. Two strands of curved, hardened steel, carrier roller chain are silently guided by and driven through concentric, machined-plastic, chain tracks. Line speed and loading determine the length of each conveyor segment to be driven by a single drive. We configure each system to form a track with a single, centerdrive arrangement located within one of its long, straight sides. You may choose to employ the TRANSCURVE option to lay out lines featuring a combination of curved and straight segments driven by a single drive. Loops, "C", "J", "U", "L", or "S" configurations are possible. The palletized product may be processed or held in a queue on any of the system's straight line segments. We construct transporter tread sections of either steel or extruded aluminum. Cross braces and tubular support stands are constructed entirely of steel.
The combination of TRANSCURVE and ACCU-Wheelveyor provides increased flexibility in allowing you to produce line layouts of virtually any pattern you want.
Transcurves accumulate dedicated work piece pallets in any straight segment of the system. Pallets are supported by the chain's carrier rollers but are not attached to it. Pallet movement is halted in station or queue by cushioned stop devices located in the open area between chain strands. The chain's carrier rollers rotate freely beneath any pallet stopped at a work or queue station. Neither the chain nor the pallet bottom is subjected to the wear that can occur in systems based on sliding of flat top chains or belts beneath the stopped work piece pallet as this action takes place on a repetitive basis.
Unit pallet loads ranging from a few pounds up to several hundred pounds may move along Transcurve systems. Line speeds to eighty feet per minute are possible. Starting and stopping is quick and gentle. We offer a variety of modular devices to manipulate the work pieces in various ways. Devices to lift/locate or rotate dedicated work piece pallets are available for considerations as options in this system. These modular devices and station or queue stops are bolted to T slots on the conveyor frame rails.
Advantages
- Provides ready access to the product from all sides and from below.
- The product moves smoothly on the work piece pallet. Cushioned stops and the system's non synchronous design assure careful handling of the work piece pallets.
- Manual and automatic work stations can be combined in a single system.
- Distribution times are short due to the formation of buffers and flexible interconnection of work stations.
- Modular construction permits easily changing or expanding existing lines.
- Reduced system I/O requirement.
- Fewer drives required.
